The kindergarten programme extends from four and a half years to five and a half year old. During this programme stress is laid on academic domains of language and literacy development and mathematical understanding.

1. They learn numbers and spatial relationships when they count and sort shapes, assemble puzzles or build with blocks- Gross motor skills. They thus lay the foundation for curiosity driven learning to become life long learners. A rich vocabulary is the foundation for success both for literary development and mathematical understanding. Visual tracking exercise along with visual discrimination/ similarity by sorting/ grouping and categorizing will be focused on.


2. Children develop literacy aptitude while reading and exploring books, singing songs, reciting poems, performing/ enacting pieces of real life situations as a part of role play to understand and develop the true understanding and discerning power to discriminate between ‘reality’ and ‘fantasy’ and thus learn functional values.
